10-Day In-depth Residential Training in NVC - Sri Lanka

Feb 02-Feb 12, 2012
Sri Lanka

Sandhi Institute is announcing our annual international residential training for the 3rd time in Sri Lanka.

How you will benefit?

This training will bring together a community of people who are committed to embodying the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in their own lives and sharing it with others. Residential trainings enable greater depth than non-residential trainings, thereby contributing to a deeper sense of community. It’s a rare opportunity to learn from international trainers with many years of wide ranging experience.

Beginners will learn basics of NVC as well having opportunity to practice NVC conflict resolution skills. Those with NVC background will be able to deepen their understanding & skills. Everyone will be supported to apply it in their work or life context. The training is designed to meet all the different learning needs of participants.

Alongside NVC, we also offer meditation, body and breathe work, chanting and yoga. Yet, the communication training will be the central teaching, complimented by these other practices.

Some of the ways that people benefit are through:

  • Self empowerment

  • Deeper awareness

  • Stress reduction

  • Bridging cultural differences

  • Harmonious relationships

What will you have gained at the end of the training?

  • To see conflict as an opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself and others

  • To express your authenticity clearly and strongly without blame, criticism, or attack.
  • To understand compassionately what is motivating others words or behavior

  • Learn how to increase mutual respect and trust in communication

  • Improve understanding and better connection in relationships

  • Learn how to support others in their communication - “Mediation”

  • Clarity about yourself and what your needs are and finding powerful and effective ways to meet them

  • To manage strong emotions such as anger, shame and guilt in self and learn how to respond constructively when expressed by others

What people say about our trainings?

“There were lot of things which really touched my heart in this training. I learned how to transform my anger and pains through self-connection.  I’m really happy about it”

Sutharshan -

Nonviolent Communication (aka NVC) is a communication method built around the idea that all people have the   same human needs, and that our actions are attempts at meeting those needs.  We focus on building connection on that level of shared humanity. NVC can help us to express ourselves in language that doesn't involve blame or attack as well showing us a way to listen to the underlying values or needs that are important to people even when they express themselves in difficult or hostile ways.

The practice of NVC can help us understand ourselves more fully, provide us with a sense of power and choice in our lives and open our hearts to compassionately connect with others. NVC strengthens our compassion, helping us to make heart to heart connections with family, friends, neighbors and work colleagues. It’s a powerful tool for resolving and mediating inter personal, intra personal and organizational conflicts.  It is being used worldwide by parents, teachers, doctors, social workers, managers and others to improve their work and home life.
